LOCAL ADOPTION PROCESS

1: Apply
Submit an online application BELOW. Make sure to read all the FAQs before applying.

2: Review
Matchmaker Assistants will call your vet, collect a landlord letter and make sure you meet our qualifications. Check your email for all communication. **If your application is not approved, you will receive a denial email.

3: Phone Interview
If you application is approved, we will schedule a phone interview with your Matchmaker. This conversation will allow us to learn more about you and your family as well as explain the adoption process further.

4: Meet & Greet
If we have a dog that we believe is a good match, we will arrange a “meet & greet” for your family. Meet and greets take place a the home of the foster family. We require all human members of your household to be present . **Please leave pets at home.

5: Home Inspection
The foster will come to your home with the dog and check for any hazards that may be harmful to a dog or puppy. All household members, including pets, must be present for the home inspection.

6: In-Home Trial
If the foster approves the home inspection, they will leave the dog at your home for a trial period. Puppy trials will be a minimum of 2 nights and adult trials will be one week. Your matchmaker will be in contact during the in-home trial to offer support.

7. Adoption Finalization
If you found your perfect match, your Matchmaker will help finalize the adoption online and all records will be mailed to you. CONGRATULATIONS, you have given a new “day one” to a well deserving dog!
