1. TEAMS 

You can join as many Teams as you want! You choose the time commitment.

  • Fosters are always our number one need. We literally cannot rescue a single dog unless a Foster is willing to step up. Check out the Foster page for more information.

    • Local to Spokane/North Idaho

  • Provide a break and some relief to our litter fosters by cleaning their puppy area, bathing puppies and yard pickup. Of course there are some puppy snuggles afterwards as well! Great opportunity for your kids to get involved! Age 13+

  • Our volunteers assist with different transportation needs in the Spokane/CDA area, such as taking a dog to the vet or delivering supplies to foster homes.

FOSTER TEAMS

  • When we bring in dogs, we need help getting the dogs ready to go their foster homes. Intake team duties include baths, clean up duty, vaccines, microchips, new collars, nail trims and afterwards, puppy snuggles!

ADMISSIONS TEAMS

  • We want to see where our puppies are going to call home and that's where you come in.

ADOPTIONS TEAMS

  • Activated as needed when dogs need extra care or when a pregnant Mama dog is giving birth. Volunteers trained in bottle feeding, administrations of fluids, neonatal care and Parvo treatment. For whelping, assist the Mama dogs if needed, take weights, pictures and live stream the birth. Has support of the Supportive Care Team Lead. No experience needed, we will train.

  • When scheduled, technicians will meet with foster dogs or previously adopted dogs to run a heartworm test. No experience required, we will train you!

MEDICAL TEAMS

  • We love getting out in the community to share our mission and showcase our puppies! If you enjoy people and hanging out with puppies, this may be your perfect fit. 21+ preferred

  • This is a volunteer position. Person is responsible for seeking out and applying for grants.

FUNDRAISING TEAMS

  • Person is responsible for writing dog descriptions for advertisements and coming up with creative content for the Rescue’s social channels. This person should be creative, good with grammar and punctuation and social media savvy.

  • Person is responsible for keeping the Rescue photo files up to date and photograph dogs within the rescue. This person should be creative, well versed in photography practices, friendly and available to travel to foster homes.

  • Person is responsible for managing the TikTok channel for the rescue, creating and posting fun and creative videos. This person should be creative, social media savvy and keeps up to date on TikTok trends.

DIGITAL MARKETING TEAMS

2. VOLUNTEER STAFF

Specific duties and responsibilities - 5 hours per week or fewer

  • This person will gather, analyze, and present data within the organization in response to specific goals or objectives. This person will work within the Web Team and collaborate as needed with other teams.

  • This volunteer will help redesign and maintain website with the user in mind with thoughtful attention to the process that adopters go through.

  • This volunteer will help standardize technology within the Rescue and will help with technology challenges as needed.

  • This person will store all the Mutt Merch inventory as well as package and ship the merchandise to buyers. This person must monitor sales daily via email inbox.

MULTIMEDIA STAFF

  • This volunteer will operate as part of a team sendin out internal and external communications. . Graphic Design experience OR email marketing strategy a plus.

  • This person will focus on earned media and sharing our message with the public through traditional media: radio, tv, print.

  • This person will track our ‘tags’ and ‘notifications’ on social media, ensuring that we are responsive to all mentions. This person will also proactively respond on behalf of the Rescue to educate and provide a professional and authoritative source for those who need it.

  • This person will post packaged content on FB/IG according to the social media calendar and working closely with the Social Media and Content Creation leads. This person will analyze insights, trends and work to improve our audience.

  • This person will post packaged content on Tiktok as well as create content according to the social media calendar and working closely with the Social Media and Content Creation leads. This person will analyze insights, trends and work to improve our audience.

  • This person will post packaged content on Youtube according to the social media calendar and working closely with the Social Media and Content Creation leads. They will keep the “Available Dogs” playlist up to date. This person will analyze insights, trends and work to improve our audience

DIGITAL MARKETING STAFF

  • This person will seek out to recruit volunteers for the Rescue. This person will report to the Hiring Pack Leader.

ONBOARDING STAFF

  • This volunteer is responsible for creating a culture that upholds our Core Values of Transparency, Integrity, Golden Rule and Community. Volunteer is encouraged to think outside the box, bring people together, celebrate dog life and our volunteer Pack through any number of programs. This is a new position and would require a proactive and creative person.

  • This volunteer will track volunteer retention and turn over and help create programs that will retain talent. This is a new position and will require a proactive and creative person.

VOLUNTEERS STAFF

  • This person does the initial screening of applications, doing vet checks and emails applicants for more information when needed. This person will report to the Matchmaking Lead.

  • This person will be a support for owners in the community who request help with finding a new home for their dog. This person will report to the Director of Admissions.

  • This person will be responsible for supporting our Texas Partner and Owners. This person will report to the Director of Admissions.

  • This person will be responsible for supporting our PHR Adopters and families. This person will report to the Director of Admissions.

ADMISSIONS STAFF

  • This volunteer will analyze fecal samples via microscope and dispense appropriate treatments. This person must have an interest in medicine, have a small area to store microscope and supplies. Experience preferred, but not required. Will train.

3. LEADS & PACK LEADERS

5-10 hours per week

  • This person leads a small team of Foster Families in a Spokane/CDA geographical territory. This person will develop in-person relationships and be a resource for their Fosters. This person will report to Foster Specialists and the Foster Pack Leader.

    • Local to Spokane/North Idaho

  • This person is responsible for leading the Foster Case Managers. This person will help Case Managers in the specific area of dog training by educating, mentoring, and liaising between Case Managers and other Rescue teams. This person reports to the Foster Pack Leader. No experience necessary, but must have an interest in dog behavior and be willing to make home visits

  • This person is responsible for leading the Foster Case Managers. This person will help Case Managers in the specific area of medical concerns by educating, mentoring, and liaising between Case Managers and other Rescue teams. This person reports to the Foster Pack Leader. No experience necessary but must have an interest in medicine.

  • This person will lead a team of Grant Writers. They will oversee progress and ensure timely work within the team, providing and seeking out resources as needed.

FUNDRAISING LEADS

  • This person will run PHR’s online store. This person will seek to increase our sales of merchandise through online and retail channels. They will seek to create an unforgettable experience that brings the buyer into our mission and creates loyal customers.

Spread the Word

Do you love Path of Hope and support our mission? Tell your friends! We rely on Word of Mouth to help spread our Mission and let people know that we exist! Hopefully, Path of Hope Rescue will someday be a household name in our community synonymously linked with rescuing puppies and pregnant moms.

Host a Fundraiser

Hold a bake sale, yard sale, class project, raffle, add a non profit element to your existing event, host a Facebook Fundraiser for your birthday. The options are endless.

Business Partnerships

We love partnering with local businesses!  And believe us, puppies will bring people in to your business! Host a Puppy Patio Party, have a drink of the day, donate your tips, motivate your team with the reward of puppy time!

Youth Opportunities

We love child labor! *Ahem* We mean, youth opportunities! Join our Clean Team where you will help out our Litter Fosters by bathing puppies, cleaning the whelping pen and picking up the yard.  Your reward is puppy snuggles!  13+ years. 

Hold a Dog Food Drive

We are always in need of puppy food, turns out puppies eat a lot! We keep our dogs on two specific foods, so we can minimize tummy problems and troubleshoot medical issues easier. Kirkland Nature's Domain Puppy and Kirkland Nature's Domain Sweet Potato and Salmon.
