We Need Your Help
January had a rough start in life. When we first heard about him, he and his 11 siblings had just been dropped off in a box at a rural shelter in Texas, and then were immediately scheduled to be euthanized at only 8 weeks old.
Thankfully, Path of Hope Rescue was able to swoop in and transport him and his littermates into our care, giving them a chance at a better life.
Unfortunately, while in his foster home a door accidentally closed on January’s foot, leaving him with a broken leg that needs surgery to fix.
January’s care is estimated at $3,400. With your help, we hope to get January’s journey to a forever home back on the right foot.
Why Texas?
The overpopulation of dogs in Texas is extreme.
Because of a culture that does not value spay and neuter, there are simply too many dogs. There are an estimated 700,000 stray dogs just in the city of Houston alone.
Pregnant dogs and puppies are high on euthanasia lists because of the amount of resources they require.
Transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas relieves the burden on Texas shelters, gives the PNW an opportunity to truly rescue a puppy, and stops the cycle of overpopulation.
Path of Hope Rescue believes that these dogs deserve a chance at life.
