Matchmaker Assistants will call your vet, collect a landlord letter and make sure you meet our qualifications. Check your email for all communication. **If your application is not approved, you will receive a denial email.

If you application is approved, we will schedule a phone interview with your Matchmaker. This conversation will allow us to learn more about you and your family as well as explain the adoption process further.

Long distance home inspections will be conducted via video chat BEFORE the meet and greet. The home inspector will check for any hazards that may be harmful to a dog or puppy. You will be asked to point the camera at any various rooms/points in the house.

Long distance adopters are required to come to Spokane to meet their matched dog at the foster’s home. If all goes well, and the foster and adopter are in agreement, the adopter will take the dog home.

Puppy trials will be a minimum of 2 nights and adult trials will be one week. Your matchmaker will be in contact during the in-home trial to offer support. You will be sent home with enough food for the trial period and to help transition your new friend.

If you found your perfect match, your Matchmaker will help finalize the adoption online and all records will be mailed to you. CONGRATULATIONS, you have given a new “day one” to a well deserving dog!
