Pupdates - We’d Love to Hear from You!
There were a lot of people involved in saving your kiddo. In Texas, there were people who found your puppy on the streets or in a shelter, our partner Rescues and shelters, Houston foster families, transport companies and PHR’s own volunteers and teams here in Washington.
Receiving updates about your puppy’s fabulous new life helps keep us all motivated and is always appreciated! So please don’t hesitate to send those pictures, videos, and Facebook updates! You can email your Happily Furever After emails to puparazzi@pathofhoperescue.com. You never know, your puppy’s ‘Glow Up’ might even be featured on our social media!

Join your dog’s litter group!
Did you know that we have a Facebook community for you?
For each litter of puppies, (orphans and mommas have groups too) we create a private Facebook group for the adoptive families, foster families, and people who helped with the rescue of your dog. It is a community in which we can share updates and photos of the dogs living their best lives.
Facebook is a little quirky about how we can invite people to join the private groups and requires that you be a friend of the system administrator of the group or be a page “fan”.
Be on the lookout for an email from littergroups@pathofhoperescue.com, as well as a friend request from Phr Litter on Facebook. Both of these communications may be in your junk or spam folder. The communication will provide a link to your dog’s litter group.
Facebook groups have a three-step process to join:
- Click on the link for your dog’s litter group.
- From this link, click on the “Join Group” button.
- Your request will then be approved.
It is pretty common to have play dates and birthday parties with the other dogs from the litter. Sharing your contact info would be a way to be included in those gatherings even if you do not use Facebook.
If you would like your phone number shared with other littermate adopters or if you originally chose ‘no’ on the post-adoption survey but this awesome email made you change your mind, email our Social Media Liaison at littergroups@pathofhoperescue.com

How You Can Help
Path of Hope is committed to saving as many lives as possible. There is an endless number of mommas and babies who need our help.
We are so thankful that you chose to rescue. If you believe in our mission of “Every Dog. Wanted.” there are many ways you can help.

1. Consider writing a review on Facebook or Google.
Many people check these reviews to determine whether an organization is legitimate and worth their time to apply. Positive reviews can make a huge difference in a person choosing to adopt with PHR.
2. Share! Share! Share!
When people find out that they can truly RESCUE a puppy and not have to turn to backyard breeders or Craigslist they are fully on board! But there are so many people who don’t even know we exist. Let people know where you rescued your baby and share our posts on social media to help get the word out.
3. Check out our Merch!
We are adding more items to our online store all the time. These items not only serve as great conversation pieces to help share our mission but also help support us financially.
4. Attend our events and bring your friends!
The majority of our events are also fundraisers where the business is sharing a portion of their profits with PHR. Plus, many venues are dog friendly and we would love nothing more than to get to see your baby again! We have events year round with local breweries, expos, festivals and more! Events are alway kept up to date on our website and Facebook page.
5. Donate.
Rescue is expensive. Our Adoption Fees are structured to cover the normal expenses of transporting a dog from Texas, vaccines, dewormers, microchips, spay/neuter surgery and the $100 Training Refund. But as you can imagine, not everything always goes perfectly with every dog. Oftentimes, one medical event like Parvo or a specialized surgery can wipe out our reserves. If you have the means to donate financially, every single dollar is appreciated! If you have items to donate, that always helps up keep our costs down for basic supplies.

7. Foster.
No, not now. We know you want to spoil the heck out of your new baby and you should! PHR’s policy is for you to have a full year with your new baby before we would consider bringing you on to our Foster Team. Put the time, energy and training into making your new kid a well mannered, balanced mentor dog and next year we would love to chat with you about fostering.
8. Share your ideas!
Maybe you’ve visited our website and don’t see something listed, tell us! Many of our best programs and ideas have come from our Supporters. We are always open to new ideas, please share yours!
A Final Note

Even following all of this advice, you will have times where you are questioning your decision to adopt a puppy. From six to twelve months is the infamous, “I will not murder my puppy” stage. Be consistent and know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
We are continuing to add resources to our website, but don’t hesitate to reach out to your Post Adoption Counselor.
If you are frustrated, we are here for you. Reach out before you hit a wall. We can give you the resources and the help you need if you find yourself on the ledge, but we can’t help if you’ve already jumped off.
Our goal is to keep your dog in your home for his whole life, and we will help in whatever way possible to achieve that. We are here to help!
Your puppy has had a rough start in life. You get the opportunity to erase all of that and give him a new “Day 1.” Thank you for saving a life, we are truly grateful for you.
All my best,
Caitlin Knight, Founder and Director 💜🐾💜
